The dollar, which completed last week at 20.92, started this week with an increase. The dollar rate broke a historical record as it continued to increase in recent days. The dollar rate, which exceeded 23.15 as of 15:00 today, increased by 7.12% compared to yesterday's closing.
The increase in TL-based prices accelerated in the iron and steel sector, which provides its raw materials mainly through imports. Rebar prices increased between 1000-1200tl. The transaction volume weakened in the market where demand stopped with rapid price increases. While spot prices in Iskenderun region increased by 1000tl on TL basis, dollar-based prices decreased by 10$ and were offered for sale at 640$.
Export prices of rebar, which hover around $650 on average in the local market, are hovering around $630.
