According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's flat steel imports increased by 215% in June compared to its exports. On the other hand, Türkiye's flat steel imports decreased by 21% to 919 thousand tons in June compared to May, while exports decreased by 6% to 292 thousand tons.
In the first month of the year, Türkiye's flat steel imports increased by 272% compared to exports and amounted to 687 thousand tons, while exports amounted to 185 thousand tons.

Thus, Türkiye's flat steel exports increased by 19% to 220 thousand tons in February compared to the first month of the year, while imports increased by 4% to 714 thousand tons.
Türkiye's flat steel imports increased by 186% in March compared to its exports. Accordingly, Türkiye's flat steel imports increased by 26% to 904 thousand tons in March compared to February, while exports increased by 43% to 316 thousand tons.
In April, Türkiye's flat steel imports increased by 220% compared to its exports.
On the other hand, Türkiye's flat steel imports decreased by 16% to 756 thousand tons in April compared to March, while exports decreased by 25% to 236 thousand tons.
The highest increase in imports compared to Türkiye's flat steel exports was realized with a record 274% in May
However, Türkiye's flat steel imports amounted to 1 million 158 thousand tons in May, up by a record 53% compared to April, while exports increased by 31% to 310 thousand tons.
