The system is designed to provide a production capacity of up to 180 tons per hour while ensuring seamless integration with the existing plant layout, aiming to minimize downtime and enhance overall plant performance. The HBW system developed by Danieli operates fully automatically and offers a billet welding solution developed for “endless” rolling.
This technology shortens billet waiting times and eliminates the need to deliver conventional short bars to the cooling bed, thereby reducing operating costs while increasing material efficiency.
The new-generation HBW also features a redesigned structure that reduces cleaning operations by 50% compared to previous models, a cartridge-based concept that enables fast and safe offline maintenance, and an improved current control system that shortens welding time while increasing joint homogeneity.
This investment by Ekinciler Demir Çelik will also support the company’s sustainability goals. Energy consumption per ton will decrease, material waste will be minimized, and indirect emissions related to reheating and billet processing will be reduced. The facility is scheduled to become operational in the second quarter of 2027.
