Tata Steel's sales increased by 7.2% year-on-year in the July-September period.
While Tata's domestic deliveries amounted to 4.37 million tons, 540 thousand tons were exported in July-September. Steel exports from Indian mills were limited due to the 15% export tax imposed at the end of May.
Direct reduced iron production of Tata Steel Long Products, a subsidiary of Tata, increased to 203,000 tons in July-September, while crude steel production fell 8 percent year on year to 161,000 tons.
The company's DRI sales rose 10% year on year to 153,000 tons.
