According to statistics from Taiwan Customs, Taiwan imported around 2.87 million tons of ferrous scrap in the first 11 months of this year, sliding by 16% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports from the USA accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 1.2 million tons, a year-on-year drop of nearly 19%. Japan followed in the second position, exporting roughly 549,000 tons of ferrous scrap to Taiwan during the period, plummeting by nearly 48% year on year.
In November, Taiwan’s ferrous scrap imports amounted to roughly 263,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 1.3% and a year-on-year growth of 17.4%,
