Taiwan’s billet imports plummet in May

According to statistics from Taiwan Customs Taiwan imported around 270,000 tons of billet in May this year which plummeted by 45% compared to 480,000 tons in the previous month.

Among them, the imports were mainly from Russia, with a total of 160,000 tons. Japan ranked second with 70,000 tons.

In the first five months of this year, Taiwan’s billet imports amounted to 1.68 million tons, a year-on-year growth of 4%.
