Steel consumption and production in India at six-month low

Steel consumption and production in India fell to a six-month low in June, while exports fell to a 1.5-year low. On a monthly basis, consumption amounted to 8.66 million tons with a decrease of 9.2 percent, and steel production of 9.37 million tons with a decrease of 5.6 percent.

Steel imports rose 16 percent to 450,100 tons in June, up 12 percent year on year.
