Located within an industrial complex on Sulawesi Island, this nickel processing plant is operated by China's Green Environmental Manufacturing (GEM).
This is the second phase of Ecopro's investment in QMB, an Indonesian subsidiary of GEM. Specific financial details regarding these two investment phases were not disclosed by Ecopro due to a confidentiality agreement.
The second round of investment will provide QMB with the necessary infrastructure to increase annual nickel production from the current production capacity of 30,000 tonnes to 50,000 tonnes.
