This is the company's third increase for flat products, in addition to the increase of Yuan 200/ton and Yuan 250/ton in January and February, respectively.
Shagang is the largest Chinese steelmaker that regularly makes such prices public. Competing factories such as Baosteel are only announcing price change increases. This is seen as an indicator of the flat steel market sentiment of the HRC list prices that Shagang releases every month.
An increase of 100 Yuan/ton made this month increased the list price of Shagang's Q235 5.5mm HRC to 4,600 Yuan/ton and the list price of SPHC 4.0mm HRC to 4,610 Yuan/ton for March sales. The listed prices are in EXW and 13% VAT is included.
China's Q235 4.75mm HRC national price was 4,339 Yuan/ton including 13% VAT as of March 1, an increase of 92 Yuan/ton as of February 1.
