Salzgitter invested in new hot dip galvanizing line

Making the biggest single investment of the last ten years with the ''Hot Dip Galvanizing line no.3'' project, Salzgitter Group will enable its subsidiary Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH to expand its position as a leading supplier in the premium segment. It was announced by the company that the plant manufacturer of this investment, amounting to approximately 200 million euros, is SMS Group. It is among the information obtained that the annual capacity of the new production facility is 500,000 tons and that 70 new jobs will be created after it starts operating. In addition, the annealing furnace to be located in the facility differs from the existing hot-dip galvanizing lines in that it can heat and cool the material faster than the existing hot-dip galvanizing lines and reach a higher annealing temperature.
