Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov spoke about Germany's approval process for the Nord Stream 2 Natural Gas Pipeline.
Peskov evaluated the statement of the new German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock that "North Stream 2, which extends from Russia to Europe, cannot be put into operation at the moment".
"We just have to be patient"
Emphasizing that German institutions continue to work on the Nord Stream 2 approval process, Peskov said, "North Stream 2's executive company meets all the necessary conditions. At this point, you just have to be patient." he said.
"It's a technical and bureaucratic process. We're not going to rush it," Peskov said. said.
NORTH CURRENT 2 PROJECT
With the Nord Stream 2 project, the total cost of which is calculated as approximately 10 billion euros, it is planned to transport 55 billion cubic meters of Russian gas annually to Germany via the Baltic Sea.
Among the partners of the project, which Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic countries oppose the construction of, are companies such as Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershall, as well as the project owner Gazprom.
