Primetals Technologies strengthens service competency in China

"Through the launch of new systems, Primetals Technologies is expanding its service competencies here on site," Tomislav Koledic, CEO of Primetals Technologies China, is reported to remark. These innovations bring the service workplace in Changxing, which opened in 2019, to almost 13,000 square meters. The facility, now covering many areas such as long and flat product rolling mills, casting facilities, EAF Quantum and Arvedi ESP lines, will also serve as a platform for high-end condition monitoring and proactive maintenance solutions.

Global Head of Metallurgical Services at Primetals Technologies, Karl Purkarthofer, pointed out that the company is in a unique OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) status and said: "By combining our knowledge in the fields of processes, technology, electrical and automation, maintenance, modernization and transformation, we not only improve service performance, but also support customers in optimizing their system performance. All of this is exactly in line with our slogan 'Next Level Services Now'.

Primetals Technologies is planning to further expand its activities in metallurgical services throughout China with the upgraded site in Changxing. This facility is under development with a focus on the concept of smart manufacturing and a high level of energy efficiency. According to the information received, solar cells on the roof of the plant provide around 60 percent of the electricity needed to run the system.
