Overview of Uzbekistan's 2023 foreign trade volume

In 2023, steel imports from China, one of Uzbekistan's largest trading partners, amounted to $11 billion. Among them, the share of products and equipment from the mining and metallurgical industry was undoubtedly very significant.

The figures are likely to increase because in recent years Uzbekistan has been able to import products from China within a certain budget. At the same time, the state provides various incentives and investments for the modernization of mines and the exploration of new mining sites.

The President of Uzbekistan made his first foreign trip to China in 2024. Cooperation between Uzbekistan's metallurgists and Chinese partners will continue to grow. Russia ranked second in Uzbekistan's trade volume with 15.8%, followed by Kazakhstan with 7% and Türkiye with 5%.
