MMK Metalurji plans to reactivate its electric arc furnace and hot rolling mill in Dilovası in April to meet the steel demand after the earthquakes on 6 February. Production at the plant has been suspended since November 2022 due to low profit margins.
While the damage detection studies are continuing at Iskenderun Demir Çelik (Isdemir), production is expected to start gradually in a short time.
