Mexican steel scrap prices rise in the last week of the year

Central Mexico's Bajío region saw higher prices for three grades of scrap material, and buyers in the nearby state of San Luis Potosi competed for material, putting pressure on prices.

Fastmarkets assessed the consumer purchase price of No. 1 heavy molten steel scrap at 8,000 pesos ($389), up 450 pesos per ton on Tuesday, Jan.
