JFE Steel achieves ecoLeaf certification for sustainable steel products

JFE Steel corporation earns ecoLeaf certification for environmentally friendly steel products in alignment with JFE's 2050 environmental vision.

JFE Steel achieves ecoLeaf certification for sustainable steel products

JFE Steel Corporation has obtained EcoLeaf certification for three steel product categories, sanctioned by Japan's Sustainable Management Promotion Organization. This certification allows customers to assess the environmental impact of the products throughout their life cycle, from procurement to recycling.

The assessment is facilitated by the Product Category Rule (PCR1), aligned with ISO 20915 and JIS Q 20915, which includes recycling capacity in the quantitative evaluation of environmental impact. This certification is in line with JFE Steel's commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions and provide premium, environmentally friendly steel products with high recyclability and a significantly lower environmental impact per unit during production compared to alternative materials.
