Japan's steel exports fell

Japan's steel exports fell 18.4 percent year on year to 2.39 million tons (mnt) in September 2022. It fell below 2.4mnt for the first time since January.

Japan's exports to China fell 31% to 293,000 tons (tons), reaching below 300,000 tons for the first time in 5 months. Exports to South Korea decreased by 28 percent to 342,000 tons in September. Exports to the European Union almost doubled to 142,000 tons, while exports to the Middle East increased by 32% to 40,000 tons.
