Industrial valves are throttled after the interruption in Iranian gas

After Iran, one of Turkey's three major gas suppliers, reported a technical malfunction and cut off the gas flow to Turkey for 10 days, BOTAŞ decided to reduce the gas flow to natural gas power plants and large-scale consumers.

In the letter sent by BOTAŞ, it was stated that some difficulties were encountered in the supply-demand balance due to the increase in natural gas consumption due to seasonal conditions and the natural gas interruption from foreign supply sources.

In the article, they stated that instructions were sent to the power plants to reduce the natural gas they use by 40 percent, and that the gas distribution companies were also instructed to reduce the flow in the same proportion to industrial and campus-style large-scale consumers who consume more than 300,000 cubic meters of gas.

In the article, it was stated that the application in question will be valid until a second notification as of January 21.
