The company plans to bid Japanese H2 grade scrap at JPY 49,800/t ($379/t) and H1/H2 grade scrap at JPY 50,300/ton ($405/t).
The Korean steelmaker's HS grade offer was down JPY 3,000/t to JPY 53,300/ton ($405/t).
Hyundai's prices remained much lower than scrap prices prevailing in Japan.
Leading electric arc furnace operator Tokyo Steel is currently paying JPY 52,000/t ($395/t) for H2 grade scrap trucked to the Utsunomiya steel mill. The firm has reduced its prices by JPY 1,000/ton from April 5th.
