Hot rolled steel imports from Russia to Turkey decreased

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) in the first quarter of this year Turkey imported a total of about 1.1 million tons of hot rolled steel, 1.5% less than the same period last year. The value of these imports totaled approximately $949.9 million, which is 41% higher than last year.
In the first quarter, Turkey's main suppliers of hot rolled steel were Ukraine (approximately 200.3 thousand tons, down 43.6 percent year on year), India (approximately 197.3 thousand tons) and Russia (approximately 151 thousand tons, 71.6 tons). % annual decline.
In March, hot rolled coil imports to Turkey decreased by 48% compared to the previous month and decreased by 46.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year to approximately 234.5 thousand tons, while the import value increased by 48 to approximately $198 million. It decreased by 7% compared to the previous month and by 33% compared to the previous year.
