German mill manufacturer SMS group recently announced that it has received a new order from Russian steel producer Severstal to supply a new ASC (automatic control) double edge trimmer to the 3rd continuous pickling line in Cherepovets, Russia. The aim of the reform is to increase line capacity, increase aircraft availability and improve strip quality.
SMS Group said the company will provide the special trimmer with the sliver processing equipment, electrical and automation system pre-assembled.
The new units will be able to cut hot-rolled strip with thickness of 1.2~6.0mm and width of 700~1650mm.
