From April to June, there was a rise in port activity related to the importation of Indian coking coal

Preliminary data from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) indicates that between April and June, the estimated import of coking coal through major ports in India reached 14.98 million tons, showing an 8.44% increase compared to the previous year.

In June 2023, domestic shipments of coking coal amounted to 4.867 million tons, higher than the 5.54 million tons recorded in May.

IPA data further reveals that total iron ore shipments, including pellets, through major ports during the April to June period, reached an estimated 13.93 million tons, marking a 13.84% increase from the same period last year.
