Suppliers and customers, who reported weak sales in January, say uncertainty remains and sales volumes are low. He hears that since the last quarter of 2022, the country has witnessed significantly low consumption in both the domestic market and the export market.
On the other hand, the stock levels are not high at the sites of rebar customers who prefer to make consecutive purchases or exhibit a wait-and-see attitude. Other producers in European countries such as Italy and Spain continue to grapple with the same stagnant market as they try to keep their prices from decreasing.
Local rebar prices are down €40/ton ($42) on average compared to January and are at €670-710/t depending on the quantity.
