In China’s flat steel market, weak demand conditions continue to weigh on pricing. Seasonally high temperatures and heavy rainfall are slowing activity in the construction and manufacturing sectors, limiting purchasing momentum and keeping transaction volumes at subdued levels.
Hot rolled coil prices in China remain weak at 490 USD/t. Galvanized sheet is relatively more stable at 615 USD/t, although still showing a slightly weak trend. Cold rolled coil prices are stabilizing at 559 USD/t. Overall, domestic pricing in China remains under pressure due to insufficient demand.
In South Korea, hot rolled coil prices are increasing to 623 USD/t, maintaining a clear premium over China. Limited supply and a balanced demand structure are supporting prices, resulting in a comparatively stronger market outlook.
In India, hot rolled coil prices are at 615 USD/t. Cold rolled coil prices are rising to 697 USD/t, maintaining a strong pricing structure. In particular, elevated CRC levels indicate that domestic demand and cost pressures are supporting prices.
The divergence between China’s weak pricing structure and the relatively stronger levels in South Korea and India is becoming more pronounced across the Far East flat steel market. There are still no clear signals of a sustained recovery in demand.
