HRC prices in Germany have recently increased by EUR 15 to EUR 650. Despite this increase, a buyer source in Germany pointed to still empty order books for September, noting that most steel mills still need orders. Crc prices, on the other hand, remained stable at EUR 735. This suggests that further price increases are unrealistic.
In Southern Europe, HRC and CRC markets were generally stable.
In Spain, HRC prices were stable at EUR 645, while CRC prices were recorded at EUR 790. However, future prices remain uncertain as mills have not yet closed their order books for September delivery. Consumption in the European steel market remains low and current stock levels are quite high, according to a buyer. This points to fierce competition between some distributors and steel service centres. High inventories may keep prices under downward pressure as oversupply is putting pressure on demand.
In Italy, HRC prices held steady at EUR 625, while CRC prices remained stable at EUR 750. This indicates that the Italian market is following a stable trend similar to other Southern European countries.
