Türkiye's Billet Imports Increase
Türkiye's billet and bloom imports totaled 218.086 million tons in August this year, down 23 percent month-on-month and up 20.2 percent year-on-year, TurkStat data showed. Revenue from these imports amounted to $121.99 million, down 27.3 percent month-on-month and up 5.6 percent year-on-year. In the first eight months of the year, Türkiye's log imports rose 59.3 percent year-on-year to 2.46 million tons, while the value of these imports rose 31 percent year-on-year to $1.47 billion.
