Egypt will import steel billets from Türkiye

An Egyptian company, which has strengthened its position in the consumer markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, will cooperate by supplying steel billets from Türkiye.

An Egypt-based company has opened its doors to Turkish exporters through TurkishExporter, an important meeting point for world trade. The importer company published an advertisement stating that it will purchase steel billets from Turkish producers and is waiting for detailed price offers from the relevant producers.

Steel billet producers interested in exporting to Egypt can start a basic membership on Forie to access the company's details and evaluate export opportunities.

Türkiye's Billet Imports Increase

Türkiye's billet and bloom imports totaled 218.086 million tons in August this year, down 23 percent month-on-month and up 20.2 percent year-on-year, TurkStat data showed. Revenue from these imports amounted to $121.99 million, down 27.3 percent month-on-month and up 5.6 percent year-on-year. In the first eight months of the year, Türkiye's billet imports rose 59.3 percent year-on-year to 2.46 million tons, while the value of these imports rose 31 percent year-on-year to $1.47 billion.
