Direct reduction unit of Algerian-Qatari Steel entered the operational phase

Algerian-Qatari Steel announced that its direct reduction unit has entered the operational phase following the successful completion of the test phases. The direct reduction unit, which is characterized as the heart of the plant, which has an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons of cold and hot reduced iron, allows the production of high quality reduced iron with a purity of over 94 percent. The unit, whose production capacity is estimated to be 7500 tons, reduces the production cost by saving energy and protecting the environment.
