CRC and HDG prices decreased in Europe

Flat steel prices in Europe faced difficulties due to slow demand and competition from imported steel.

CRC and HDG prices decreased in Europe

Prices remained relatively stable, while producers were willing to offer reasonable discounts. Some producers in the region provided prices for September delivery of cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dipped galvanised coil (HDG).

An integrated plant in the region offered €800 ($863) per tonne ex-works for CRC and €830 per tonne ex-works for HDG for September delivery.

Tata Steel Netherlands indicated that it will restart its cold rolling mill by lifting the force majeure on CRC deliveries.

However, regional buyers were reported to have offered no higher than €760-780 per tonne ex-works for CRC and €790-800 per tonne for HDG.

Price assessments for local, ex-Northern Europe cold rolled coil sheet were at €780-800 per tonne on Wednesday, down €20-30 from €800-830 per tonne on June 7.

Market sources said that Asian suppliers were offering CRC at €690-700 per tonne CFR for August shipments to Northern Europe.

Offers for 0.5 mm Z100 HDG from Vietnam were also reported at €780-800 per tonne CFR Antwerp for August shipment.

Offers from Japan and India to Southern Europe were reported around €680-690 per tonne CFR during the week, also for August shipment.

An HRC booking from South Korea to Southern Europe was heard at €670 per tonne CFR during the week.
