According to data announced by the China Iron and Steel Association, China’s stainless steel imports totaled 112,100 tons. Imports recorded a decrease of 12,000 tons, or 10%, compared to the previous month and a decrease of 18,100 tons, or 14%, year on year.
In November, stainless steel imports from Indonesia amounted to 87,300 tons, indicating a decrease of 16% month on month and 17% year on year. During the same period, imports from South Korea and Taiwan increased compared to the previous month, while imports from Indonesia, Japan, and Vietnam decreased. In November, imports from the top five regions reached 104,700 tons, accounting for 93.34% of total imports.
In the January–November 2025 period, China’s total stainless steel imports were recorded at 1.3742 million tons. This level represented a decrease of 365,300 tons, or 21%, compared to the previous year. During the same period, imports from Indonesia amounted to 1.1044 million tons, marking a year on year decrease of 24%. Meanwhile, imports from Vietnam increased by 359% in the same period.
In November 2025, China’s total stainless steel exports reached 405,300 tons. Exports increased by 46,600 tons, or 13%, compared to the previous month, while recording a decrease of 35,200 tons, or 8%, year on year. During this period, exports to Vietnam totaled 54,900 tons, showing an increase of 17,200 tons, or 45%, on a monthly basis. Exports to Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, and Russia also increased compared to the previous month. In November, exports to the top 20 regions reached 324,800 tons, accounting for 80.14% of total exports.
In the January–November 2025 period, China’s total stainless steel exports were recorded at 4.5462 million tons. This figure indicated a decrease of 45,900 tons, or 1%, compared to the previous year. During the same period, exports to Vietnam reached 479,800 tons, marking a year on year increase of 58,900 tons, or 14%. In November, exports to Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, and several other regions recorded year on year increases. In the January–November period, exports to the top 20 regions totaled 3.5349 million tons, accounting for 77.76% of total exports.
In November 2025, China’s net stainless steel exports amounted to 293,200 tons. This figure represented an increase of 59,200 tons, or 25.30%, compared to the previous month, while showing a decrease of 15,900 tons, or 5.14%, year on year.
In the January–November 2025 period, net exports were recorded at 3.172 million tons, representing an increase of 328,900 tons, or 11.57%, compared to the previous year.
