China's coal imports could cause contraction in global coal supply

In the first ten months, China's coal imports from Indonesia, Canada, the Philippines, the United States, South Africa and Colombia fell year-on-year.

In addition, coal imports from Russia and Indonesia also decreased on a monthly basis in October. The decline in imports from Indonesia was due to exchange rates and higher shipping charges. In addition, coal imports from Russia decreased due to insufficient railway capacity in the Far East region and transportation restriction in winter.

While China's demand for coal is increasing, global coal supply is contracting.
