A summary of the operational review for iron ore and metallurgical coal for the quarter ended on September 30, 2021 was published on Tuesday, October 19th.
Total iron ore production for the three months ending September 30th was 63.3 million tons (70.6 million tons on a 100% basis), which represents a 4% annual decrease. Iron ore production decreased by 3% on a quarterly basis for the period from July to September.
The production decrease was triggered by a temporary shortage of railway workers due to planned major maintenance, including a dump truck, as well as Covid-19-related border restrictions. BHP took legal action.
