Attention in global markets is on the interest rate decision of the Bank of England!

While the global markets followed a positive course as concerns about geopolitical risks were pushed back and investors focused on better-than-expected company financial results and macroeconomic data, today the Bank of England's (BoE) interest rate decision will be followed, as well as an intense data agenda.

Attention in global markets is on the interest rate decision of the Bank of England!

ABD Temsilciler Meclisi Başkanı Nancy Pelosi'nin Çin ile egemenlik anlaşmazlığında Tayvan'ı ziyaret etmesiyle artan jeopolitik risk algısı azalırken, yatırımcılar küresel olarak açıklanan veriler ve şirket finansal sonuçları kapsamında geleceğe yönelik rehberliklere odaklandı.

Bu kapsamda ABD'deki teknoloji şirketleri ve Avrupa'daki bankacılık sektörü şirketlerinden gelen olumlu bilançolar borsaları desteklerken, dünya genelinde açıklanan hizmet sektörü Satınalma Yöneticileri Endeksi (PMI) verilerinin beklentilerin üzerinde performans göstermesi risk iştahını da artırdı. .

Minneapolis Fed Başkanı Neel Kashkari, Fed'in araçlarını tam olarak kullanma zamanının geldiğini vurgulayarak, "Fed'in gelecek yıl faiz oranlarını düşürmesi mantıksız bir ihtimal" dedi. söz konusu.

With these developments, a positive trend was observed in the New York stock market yesterday. While the Dow Jones index rose 1.29 percent, the S&P 500 index closed at a 2-month high with 1.56 percent, and the Nasdaq index closed at a 3-month high with a 2.59 percent gain. The dollar index continues its horizontal course of yesterday and is at the level of 106.4. The US 10-year bond yield, on the other hand, dropped and stabilized at 2.72% after testing 2.84 percent yesterday.

On the European side, while the news flow on the Russia-Ukraine war and energy prices remained at the center of the agenda, eyes were turned to the BoE's interest rate decision and the evaluations to be made by BoE Chairman Andrew Bailey. In the face of rising inflation, the bank, which has been increasing interest rates by 25 basis points at every meeting since December, is expected to increase by 50 basis points this month. If this expectation is realized, the bank will have applied for the highest interest rate increase since 1995.

According to the data released yesterday, the service sector PMI in the Euro Area increased by 0.6 points compared to the previous month and realized as 51.2, above the expectations. In the European stock markets, which rose with the purchases of positive data and technology stocks, the DAX 30 index gained 1.03% in Germany, 0.97 percent in the CAC 40 index in France and 0.49 percent in the FTSE 100 index in the UK. While the euro/dollar parity moved sideways at 1.0170, the sterling/dollar parity was stabilized at 1.2155 before the BoE's interest rate decision.

Across Asia, the Chinese military began military exercises around the island of Taiwan today, following Pelosi's visit to Taiwan. The exercise, in which real shootings are also carried out, will last until 7 August. Although the developments on the subject will remain on the agenda for a while, it is noteworthy that the stock markets have started the new day positively. While the purchases in technology stocks before Alibaba's financial results to be announced today were influential in the rise in question, the Nikkei 225 index in Japan is 0.6 percent, the Shanghai composite index in China is 0.1 percent and the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong is close to the closing. with an increase of 1.6 percent.

Domestically, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 1.39 percent, closing its all-time high with 2,684.46 points. Dollar/TL is traded at 17.9460 at the opening of the interbank market today, after closing at 17.9418 with a limited decrease of 0.02 percent compared to the previous closing level.

Stating that investors will follow the BoE's interest rate decision today, analysts said that the real effective exchange rate in the country, weekly money and bank statistics, foreign trade balance in the USA and weekly unemployment applications come to the fore on the data agenda.

Analysts reported that technically, the 2,700 level in the BIST 100 index is in the resistance position and the 2.540 points in the support position.

The data to be followed in the markets today are as follows:

09.00 Germany, factory orders for June
