Analysis of EU sheet quotas by country: India stands out

According to data obtained by SteelRadar from the European Commission, some countries have reached full capacity utilization of sheet quotas while others have not utilized them at all. India stands out with full capacity utilization in two product groups, and China is also among the countries achieving full capacity utilization. South Korea, Iran, and the United Kingdom did not utilize their quotas.

Analysis of EU sheet quotas by country: India stands out

According to the analysis of the quota period from July 1st to September 30th, India utilized the entire quota for both 4A metallic sheets at 54,225 tons and organically coated sheets at 79,455 tons. Similarly, China fully utilized its quota of 126,629 tons for 4B metallic coated sheets. However, anti-dumping measures and restrictions led to reduced utilization of other quotas by industry giant China.

Among the countries that did not utilize their existing sheet quotas, South Korea did not use its 256 tons of 3A electrical sheet quota, and Iran did not use its 167 tons of the same quota. Similarly, the United Kingdom did not utilize its 869-ton stainless HR quarto plate quota.

When examining the HRC and CRC quotas, India stands out in the HRC product group with a utilization rate of 77.8%, while South Korea reached a 46.2% utilization rate in the CRC product group. Among the countries utilizing the current HRC and CRC quotas the least, the United Kingdom had an 11% utilization rate in the HRC product group, while Serbia had a 21.3% utilization rate in the CRC product group.
