The Turkish Metal Industrialists' Union (MESS) and the Turkish Metal Union reached an agreement on the MESS Group Collective Labor Agreement, which concerns approximately 150 thousand metal workers.

According to the written statement made by the Turkish Metal Union, it was reminded that in the negotiations that started on September 26, 2023, the previous offers made by MESS were not accepted and a strike decision was taken.

At the session held yesterday at MESS Headquarters upon the invitation of MESS, a statement was made regarding the contract, stating that the agreement was reached.

In the statement, "As of August 31, 2023, hourly wages of less than 65 lira have been withdrawn to 65 lira. This regulation concerns 89 thousand 600 of our members. After the withdrawal was applied, the hourly wages of all our members were increased by 32 percent. After this, the hourly wages of all our members were increased by 30 lira." Then, hourly wages were increased by 2 lira for each year of seniority of all our members, limited to 15 years. This article will be applied as of the first employment date of those who retire from EYT. Thus, for the first six months of the contract, it will be valid from September 1, 2023. An average of 98 percent increase was made in total. In the second six months of the contract, wages were increased by 30 percent with inflation protection, effective from March 1. The third six-month increase was determined as inflation and 3 points welfare share. The increase rate for the fourth six months was inflation. determined at the rate."

In the statement, it was emphasized that with the agreement, all social rights were increased by 140 percent in the first year and by annual inflation in the second year;

"The working hours on national holidays and public holidays have been increased from 100 percent to 125 percent. It was decided to give our disabled members one day paid leave on Disability Day.
