Algeria's national oil company, Sonatrach, plans to increase its revenue by $13 billion this year and generate around $33 billion in revenue.
Speaking to the Algerian official agency APS, Sonatrach Director Tevfik Hakkar said that according to the picture in the international energy markets, they expect to generate revenues of 30 to 33 billion dollars in 2021.
Sharing the information that unlike last year, which was under the influence of the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic, this year its revenues "witnessed a noticeable increase", Hakkar stated that its sales reached approximately 20 billion dollars in the first 8 months of the year, which corresponds to the total income of 2020. The economic devastation caused by the Kovid-19 epidemic, which affected the country, also shook Algeria, an oil and natural gas country with a population of 45 million, deeply. It brought Algeria face to face with consequences such as increasing current account deficit and postponement of investment projects and left it in an economically difficult situation.
