Despite the increase in scrap and billet prices, rebar suppliers are having difficulty keeping up with the same increase. Rebar rose nearly $30/ton in December, but failed to exceed that. A gradual decrease in offers is also observed due to the seasonal business slowdown.
Spot rebar prices by region, evaluated by www.steelradar.com on December 18, 2023, are as follows;
Istanbul rebar prices 21,500 TL (-100)
Izmir rebar prices 21,000 TL (-200)
Karabük rebar prices 21.400 TL (-100)
Payas rebar prices 21.300 (-200)
(These are the list prices that can be taken as reference for the spot market. Lower prices are possible.)
