The 2024 UK Metals Expo, hosted in Birmingham, was a critical event for the metals supply chain.The third edition of this leading event, of which SteelRadar was a media partner, provided an opportunity to interact with representatives from across the UK metals sector to hear influential views and have in-depth discussions on the future of the industry.

The 2024 UK Metals Expo started with an energised atmosphere in Birmingham. The main theme at the event was the need for a comprehensive UK Industrial Strategy. In Chris McDonald MP's welcome speech, he highlighted that such a strategy is a huge opportunity for everyone working in the industry and will allow the UK to attract the necessary investment.

Conference sessions addressed critical issues such as sustainability, carbon emission reduction, technological innovation and market competitiveness. McDonald's call for the need for a strong Industrial Strategy was a recurring theme throughout the event, emphasising the need for industry and government collaboration in building a hardwearing metals sector.
