Crude steel production decreased by 10.8% to 140.7 million tons in December 2022.
Looking at the full year 2022, crude steel production decreased by 4.3% to 1.83 billion tons.
In December, steel production in Asia decreased by 9.2 percent to 104.9 million tons.
In particular, the production volume in China amounted 77.9 million tons. In addition, 10.6 million tons of crude steel was produced in India, 6.9 million tons in Japan and 5.2 million tons in South Korea.
AB-27 produced 9.2 million tons of crude steel in December, down 16.7 percent year on year.
Steel production in the CIS is 6.2 mt, down 28.4 percent year on year, while Russian production is estimated to be 5.5 mt, down 11.3 percent year on year.
