Gas and electricity prices see 25% increase

According to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), electricity and natural gas prices have been increased by 25%.

Gas and electricity prices see 25% increase

The adjustment of final electricity retail prices was justified by the rise in electricity generation and distribution costs.

Accordingly, a 25% increase will apply to residential subscribers, 17.5% to public and private service sector subscribers connected to low voltage, 5.8% to industrial subscribers connected to medium voltage, and 24.8% to agricultural activity subscribers connected to medium voltage. With this increase, a residential subscriber consuming 100 kWh per month will pay 323.8 TL.

For natural gas prices, an average increase of 25% applies to residential consumers, 18.61% to industrial consumers, and 19.42% to electricity generation plants. In addition, a tiered pricing system has been introduced for residential consumers.

According to data published by BOTAŞ, the first tier for low consumption will be 10.625 TL per cubic meter, while the second tier for high consumption will be 18 TL. Martyrs' families, veterans, and disabled veterans will receive a discounted rate of 5.3125 TL.
