Five-week rise in CBRT reserves comes to an end

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s (CBRT) gross reserves declined by approximately $250 million in the week ending August 28, falling to $188.2 billion. This brought an end to the five-week recovery trend in reserves.

Five-week rise in CBRT reserves comes to an end

A limited decline was recorded in the CBRT’s reserves during the week ending August 28.

The CBRT’s gross reserves decreased by around $250 million during the week, falling to $188.2 billion. As a result, the recovery trend that had continued for the previous five weeks came to an end.

Net Reserves Also Declined

The Central Bank’s net reserves also decreased during the same week. Net reserves fell by approximately $300 million to $66.6 billion.

Movements in reserve indicators are closely monitored in terms of changes in the Central Bank’s foreign assets as well as developments in the foreign exchange market.

Net Reserves Excluding Swaps Remained Unchanged

Net reserves excluding swaps remained unchanged in the week ending August 28.

Excluding swap transactions, net reserves stood at $55.9 billion, remaining stable during the week.
