In the Chinese market, HRC prices started the week at USD 488/t and remained at this level until the end of June. With the beginning of July, prices decreased to USD 484/t, ending the week lower. CRC prices followed a similar trend, holding at USD 554/t throughout most of the week before decreasing to USD 552/t. Meanwhile, galvanized steel prices remained unchanged at USD 610/t throughout the week, outperforming other product segments. Steel plate (Q235B) prices also remained stable at USD 496/t before decreasing to USD 493/t during the final two trading days.
In the South Korean market, HRC prices showed limited fluctuations. Prices stood at USD 622/t on 26 June before gradually decreasing to USD 618/t during the week and stabilizing at USD 619/t on the final trading day. This indicates that the market experienced only minor price corrections rather than a significant shift in trend.
India recorded the week's most significant price movement in the HRC market. Prices increased sharply from USD 416/t on 26 June to USD 617/t on 29 June. During the latter part of the week, HRC prices decreased slightly to USD 611/t. CRC prices showed a more stable trend, increasing from USD 698/t to test USD 700/t before decreasing to USD 693/t by the end of the week.
Overall, weak demand continued to weigh on flat steel prices in China, while the South Korean market remained broadly balanced. India stood out with the sharp increase in HRC prices, although a limited correction was seen toward the end of the week. Looking ahead, regional demand conditions and intense competition in export markets are expected to remain the key factors shaping steel prices across the Far East.
