EMR purchases 50 electric telehandlers

EMR (European Metal Recycling) has purchased 50 all-electric industrial telehandlers from JCB in a deal worth more than £3 million, JCB's largest single order for electric telehandlers.

EMR purchases 50 electric telehandlers

The 'Teletruks' order with a lifting height of four metres includes the 3,000 kg/four metre 30-19E, which can lift three tonnes to full height or carry 1,900 kg on two metres and has a maximum forward reach of 2.39 metres. The machine has an overall width of just under 1.3 metres and a total weight of 5,600 kg. The 35-22E can carry 2,220 kg at a forward reach of two metres, the specifications are almost identical to the 30-19E, but it is slightly heavier as it weighs close to six tonnes. Maximum speed for both models is 18kph. Both units can run a typical eight-hour shift on a single charge. The order was sourced through regional dealer Gunn JCB and replaces a fleet of diesel models.

Giles Mogg, EMR's regional commercial manager, said: "We believe we are playing a key role in helping to protect our planet for future generations. The switch to JCB electric Teletrucks is one of a number of important steps we are taking to reduce the carbon intensity of our business on our journey to become carbon net zero by 2040. These are great, productive machines that will make a positive difference to our fleet."
