Market outlook
As of July 22, the Turkish long steel market was characterized by firmer producer pricing. Higher offers from Marmara and İzmir producers, together with İçdaş' USD 5/ton price increase, reflected producers' efforts to strengthen pricing.
The day's most notable development was Kardemir reopening rebar sales at USD 578/ton and selling approximately 22,500 tons before suspending sales again shortly afterward. However, limited gains in the spot market and imported billet prices remaining stable at USD 490/ton CFR Türkiye indicated that end-user demand has yet to show a meaningful recovery. With wire rod and structural steel prices remaining stable, the market continued to display a cautious tone despite higher producer offer levels.
