Crude steel production fell in February

Global crude steel production in February decreased by 1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, to 142.4 million tons. Turkey's crude steel production also decreased compared to the same period of 2022 and fell to 2.1 million tons.

Brussels-based, World Steel Association (WSA) has announced its crude steel production data for February.

Accordingly, global crude steel production decreased by 1 percent to 142.4 million tons in February 2023 compared to the same period of 2022.

In the same period, it was estimated that the production of China, the world's largest steel producer, increased by 5.6 percent to 80.1 million tons.

Japan's production decreased by 5.3 percent to 6.9 million tons, Germany's production decreased by 6.9 percent to 3 million tons, and the USA's production decreased by 5.3 percent to 6 million tons.

Turkey's crude steel production, on the other hand, decreased by 28.9 percent in February compared to the same period of the previous year, and decreased to 2.1 million tons.
