Russia's coal production increased by 0.9% y-o-y in 2022 to 436 million tons. In January 2023, it decreased by 19.3% compared to December 2022. On an annual basis, it decreased by 1.4% to approximately 34.9 million tons.
Coal production in the Siberian Federal District decreased by 20.3% m-o-m and by 4% y-o-y to about 26.8 million tons.
