According to the China Customs General Administration 88,969 million tons of iron ore were imported into the country in June.
In total, from January to June this year, China imported 535,748 million tons of iron ore and concentrate, which is 4.4 percent less than the same period last year.
Some analysts say that the decline in iron ore imports to the country is mainly due to the earlier-than-normal start of lower demand for higher value-added products.
