China completes first quarter in EU steel quotas

As the end of the first quarter of 2023 in the EU's China quotas is coming to an end, it was noted that while the quotas of some products in China were completed, some of them followed a rather slow course.

According to the data obtained from the national statistical units of China, the latest situation in the EU China quotas was evaluated as the first quarter of the year ended. It was observed that while the quotas of some products were filled, some products followed a slow course. In the second quarter, slow-moving products are expected to gain momentum and products close to their quotas are expected to be completed.

Products with completed quotas;

29.130/t opened for 3B Electrical Sheets,

132.123/t opened for Non Alloy and Other Alloy Merchant Bars and Light Sections,

The quota for 6.590/t opened for Sheet Piling has been completed.

Products expected to be completed in the second quarter of the year;

While 10,522/t of the 131.248/t quota opened for 4B Metallic Coated Sheets was transferred, 115.790/t of this amount was used. The remaining quota amount was 15,458/t.

Of the 1.417/t quota opened for Railway Materials, 1.392/t was used. Although there is no transferred quota amount, 25/t remained.

While 36,046/t quota was used, 97/t remained from the 36,143/t quota opened for Other Seamless Tubes.

Of the 7.601/t quota for Other Welded Pipes, 7.595/t was used. The remaining amount was 6/t.

Slow moving products

2,676/t was transferred from the 7,304/t quota for Stainless Hot Rolled Quarto Plate. While 764/t of this was used, 6.540/t remained.

Of the 1,519/t quota for Stainless Wire Rod, 4/t was transferred. While 649/t of this was used, 870/t remained.

Of the 1.057/t quota for Seamless Stainless Tubes and Pipes, 188/t was transferred. 674/t of this amount was used. 383/t remaining.

19,561/t of the 44.898/t quota opened for Non-Alloy and Other Alloy cold finished bars was transferred. 13,096/t of this amount was used. 31,802/t remained.

69,585/t of the 143.929/t quota opened for Non-Alloy Wire was transferred. While 41,281/t of this was used, 102,648/t remained.
