Brazil's steel exports to the EU increased

Steel exports from Brazil to EU countries were 91,000 tons in the January-May period of 2021, compared to more than 849 thousand tons of steel this year. The Brazilian steel market filled the gap caused by the war with Russia and Ukraine, meeting 15% of the European steel demand.

"The Russian-Ukrainian conflict has opened up space for Brazil, which is trying to meet the EU's demand," said Edson Cipriano, representative of the Brazilian delegation at a steel fair in Germany.
