BOTAŞ's EU-funded green hydrogen project started the tender process

According to the announcement published on the official website of BOTAŞ, the tender announcement for the technical assistance project titled “Strengthening Green and Low Carbon Hydrogen in Türkiye” was published on the European Union Financing and Tenders Portal on June 12.

The project, funded by the EU under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) with a total budget of EUR 3 million, aims to strengthen the infrastructure and institutional capacity in the field of green and low-carbon hydrogen in Türkiye.

Within the scope of the project, it is planned to technically assess the integration of BOTAŞ's existing infrastructure with hydrogen technologies, prepare a strategic Hydrogen Master Grid Plan across Türkiye and carry out comprehensive capacity building activities for sectoral stakeholders.

The tender process is managed by the European Commission's "ENEST.C - Neighborhood East & Türkiye" unit. Applications will only be accepted electronically and in English. The deadline for applications was announced as July 15 at 14.00.

With the completion of the project, it is aimed to contribute to the development of hydrogen technologies, which are expected to play an important role in Türkiye's energy transformation process, and to establish an infrastructure in line with the European Green Deal targets.
